Water for the Maasai –
A Well to Combat Climate Change
Climate change hits the most vulnerable the hardest – including the Maasai in East Africa. Longer droughts, irregular rainfall, and rising temperatures are making access to clean drinking water increasingly difficult. Without water, not only do people suffer, but also their livestock – the very foundation of their livelihood.

Thanks to previous donation campaigns, we were able to provide short-term relief. But now, sustainable solutions are needed. With your support, we aim to build a second well – a secure and politically independent source of drinking water for the Maasai. The construction cost is approximately €30,000. Until then, we can alleviate the most urgent needs through targeted measures:

Construction of a solar-powered elephant protection fence – safeguards water sources from wildlife and prevents conflicts.
Maintenance and repair of the existing diesel-powered water pump – ensures short-term access to water.
Purchase and installation of a solar-powered water pump – an environmentally friendly solution for the future.

These measures provide immediate relief – while the well ensures long-term water security. The Sound of Shells Institute supports this initiative to empower the Maasai community through sustainable technology and education.

Every drop counts – every donation helps! Please support us by making a donation or sharing this campaign. Together, we can create a future where water is no longer a luxury.

Help Caroline
Caroline Ntanin (16) is supposed to save her family from famine through marriage. The on-going drought in Kenya has led to a never-seen-before famine amongst the Maasai community. Caroline's family has been poor before, now they are fighting the famine... and the dowry of her marriage is supposed to help feed the family. But the courageous 16-year-old does not want to get married now. She wants to finish her school and then go to Highschool.
She knows that education is the best way out of poverty. So she seeks help from Maasai leader and elder Ezekiel Ole Katato. Ezekiel brought her to a children's home in Kajiado. But they had to reject her, because of the drought and famine. We have put up a donation fund for Caroline. Please support us in helping her to go to highschool!
